Mark O'Dell, DDS

Mark O'Dell, DDS

Dr. O’Dell graduated from U of M Dental School in 1976.  He loves providing quality dental care, helping people and travelling.    During dental school he worked in a migrant dental clinic in California and in Israel.  After graduation, he chose not to join his father and grandfather in their dental practice in Jackson, Michigan.

Instead, he enlisted in the Indian Health Service and worked on a reservation in South Dakota.  He later transferred to the Arctic of Alaska and flew out to the Eskimo villages with portable dental equipment. After he met the woman of his dreams, they moved to Southeast Alaska.

He was the best dentist in Haines, Alaska, for six years.  (He was also the only dentist but he may not mention that.)   A family was started, and then they traveled in a motor home for a year.  His firstborn would say that “My daddy’s a bum.” They settled down in scenic Birch Run in 1988.  He is happy to have done so.

He joined the practice of his dental school classmate, Dr. Dan Pepin, in 1988.  Dr. Pepin later needed to retire due to health reasons and Dr. O’Dell has sustained the practice.

He is a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, Saginaw Valley Dental Association and the Saginaw County Dental Association.

Our front desk is managed by Karen.  She was a certified dental assistant for Dr. Pepin, so she has known many of our families for years.  She also enjoys keeping her (gloved) fingers wet with chairside duties when she is needed.

Tresha is the main front desk lady –person.  Simply put…  She KNOWS the answers to your questions.  If not, she will find out and call you back.

We are fortunate to have three hygienists.   Liz, Michele and Heather. They are all different and have varied schedules.  This allows us to work with your life schedule and also gives you a personal choice as to who you would like to clean your teeth.

Carolyn is our main dental assistant.  She worked in a other offices before settling down for the long term with us.  We appreciate her experience.
